About the Dorchester Art Club

Watercolour

The Dorchester Art Club (DAC) is based in the Dorset County Town of Dorchester, in central Southern England. The surrounding area is known for its natural beauty, and for its literary associations with Thomas Hardy and William Barnes. The nearby coast is the first World Heritage Site in England, with many fossils of the Jurassic Age found in the Isle of Purbeck and at Lyme Regis.

The Club invites artists of any standard to join. Members benefit from reduced submission fees, and lower commission charges on any sales, when exhibiting at its two main annual exhibitions (one of which is limited to members only).  Regular 'hard copy' Newsletters are produced to keep the membership informed, to supplement the details on this website.

Temporary Exhibitions

Borough gardens

If the weather is kind, the DAC hopes to hold a second temporary, one-day, exhibition of DAC members' work in West Walks, on the east side of Dorchester's Borough Gardens, following the initial exhibition held at the same location on Sunday 5th July 2009, held on the same day as a charity event inside the Gardens.

The Club plans to hold the 2010 exhibition on Sunday 4th July.
